Panteon Chaosu | Pantheon of Chaos

Chyba wszyscy, którzy w miarę regularnie zaglądają na Miniwojnę wiedzą, że jestem miłośnikiem starego Warhammera, gry z okolic 3. edycji. Świata, atmosfery i - przede wszystkim - figurek. W tych starych miniaturkach lubię styl rzeźby, wielkość, akcenty humorystyczne... nie bez znaczenia jest też, z pewnością, pewna nostalgia. Na przeglądaniu katalogów i podziwianiu naprawdę bardzo, bardzo trudno dostępnych te 25 lat temu figurek spędziłem długie godziny. Dziś mam sporo miniaturek z tego okresu, ale jeszcze więcej nadal poszukuję.

Z dużym zainteresowaniem śledziłem też projekt, o którym w wywiadzie z Tonym Acklandem wspominał Orlygg prowadzący Realms of Chaos 80s. Mowa o próbie wydania zaprojektowanych współcześnie figurek podobnych duchem i stylem rzeźby do miniaturek z połowy lat osiemdziesiątych, osadzonych - duchowo - w świecie Królestw Chaosu. Pierwsza próba nie wypaliła, ale część figurek została zrobiona, a nowa odsłona pomysłu, za którą - od strony biznesowej - stoi już kto inny, nosi nazwę Panteon Chaosu. Od kilkunastu dni trwa zbiórka społecznościowa, której celem jest zebranie funduszy na produkcję już gotowych wzorów i dokończenie kilkunastu pozostałych. Co ciekawe, cel podstawowy osiągnięto po zaledwie kilku godzinach po odpaleniu, a teraz zdobywane są, rzadkie co prawda, cele dodatkowe. Wystarczy powiedzieć, że obecnie zebrano ponad 22000 EUR (minimalny cel to 6000), a projekt wsparło 280 osób.

Lista artystów, którzy brali udział, w ten czy inny sposób pomagając przy tworzeniu miniaturek, jest również imponująca - Tim Prow, Kev Adams, Drew Williams, Paul Muller i Anthony Ackland. Niezłe grono, prawda?

Wśród miniaturek mamy orki, gobliny, hobgobliny, zwierzoludzi, wojowników Chaosu, trolle, demony, minotaury, krasnoludy Chaosu, mutantów - całą menażerię, znaną z książek wydawanych 25 lat temu i - co bardzo ważne - utrzymaną idealnie w tej stylistyce. Osoby zainteresowane Malalem znajdą też coś dla siebie - pełen komplet demonów wykonanych wg. szkiców Acklanda, które są - nieoficjalnie rzecz jasna - stworami tegoż bóstwa.

Bardzo, bardzo poważnie rozważam wsparcie tego projektu kwotą wymaganą do kupna wszystkich miniaturek. Zerknijcie sami, moim zdaniem naprawdę warto.

I think that this is no mystery to readers of Miniwojna that I love old Warhammer, game in its earlier incarnations, 3rd, 4th edition. I love the world, I love this strange mix of pulp, high and low fantasy and - above all - I truly love old miniatures. I like their size, I like their design, style, details and a healthy dose of humour present in most of them. And, of course, I'm quite a bit nostalgic here too. I spent long weeks browsing through pages of catalogues and White Dwarfs twenty some years ago, most of them I knew by heart too. Now I own some of these miniatures, I'm looking for even more of them and I think this is never ending quest...

I followed with great interest project of reviving this spirit of old miniatures, which was mentioned in Orlygg's interview with Tony Ackland too. Some great artists wanted to produce new miniatures firmly set in the spirit of old times, similar in style and design to heros of old gone world, truly belonging to the Realm of Chaos. First try to produce such miniatures wasn't successful but some miniatures were sculpted. Fortunately, two years later someone else bought these figures and recruited more artist to produce range of figures under the name Pantheon of Chaos. This project has been on Kickstarter for few days now and is gathering more and more money and backers. 6000 initial EUR was gathered in mere two hourse after the start of the campaign and currently there are over 280 backers pledging more then 22000 EUR.

Pantheon of Chaos was created with a help of many artists, including Tim Prow, Kev Adams, Drew Williams, Paul Muller and Anthony Ackland. Quite a list, isn't it?

There are ors, goblins, hobgoblins, mutants, trolls, beastmen, warriors of Chaos and deamons present in the range currently - all known from the pages of old chaotic books released more then 25 years ago and - which is really important - produced nowadays, with current methods, but with this old look and feel. For example, there are deamons of malice amongst them, which are based on unofficials drawings and sketches of Malal god too... 

Currently I'm torn between two possibilites. I have to buy some long needed upgrades for my obsolete computer... but I really, really want to buy all these miniatures too... Choices, choices...
