Ostatni element wikingów | Last viking element

Do pomalowania został jeszcze obóz, powinienem zdążyć pomalować go do niedzieli...

At last! I managed to finish last element of viking III/40b army - command element 4Bd(Gen). Painting this army made by Baueda took me at least 2 months longer then I anticipated. There were many reasons for this delay but let's just say that I'm glad it is finally ready. I still have to paint camp but it should be ready till Sunday I hope. And then my vikings will be ready to invade and plunder. There will be another DBA tournament in Warsaw on February 12th and I want to play with this army (well, to play and be beaten again :)) As for miniatures - except the banner bearer, which was shown here on the blog already as one of the spearmen - all of them are especially made for command group. There is one horn blowing warrior, some kind of champion and jarl itself. These are by far the best and nicest miniatures from the whole army pack, excellent sculpts, nice poses, they seem to be alive. I tried to use brighter, lighter colors  and many highlights to make them standing out. I'm really glad how the shields turned out, especially one carried by horn-blower. Banner was printed, I just rescaled some norsemen banner found on the Web. I don't really like how it turned out, inner pattern is barely visible but still I think it is better then all of my tries... Maybe in the future one of my next armies will got hand painted banner. To be honest that one here doesn't look that bad in reality;) Base itself has had some kind of accident, I dropped it on the hard floor from the height of 150 cms. Jarl decided then to leave my army and went missing but I found him and punished him hard for taking an unauthorised leave - he is glued with twice the previous amount of superglue now:) I have had to make almost whole base again of course.  I will publish whole army pictures when camp will be painted but let me tell you - it looks nice standing on the shelf next to me.

  4. Great job with this one and I really can't wait to see entire army here. With respect to playing and being beaten: just avoid too much open terain and Kn elements.

Wait a second...this Jarl... is he bald? He cannot be bald!

  5. Thanks for all comments guys. El Senyor Verd - You've got nice vikings too, especially shields are truly impressive:)
And jarl... of course he is bald. As all "older" men know, baldness is a sign of power;) and manly powers;)
