Model niemieckiego czołgu lekkiego PzKpfw I Ausf. B w skali 1:72 ukazał się w ramach serii "Wrzesień 1939", w jej 8. numerze. Gazetka ma układ identyczny z wcześniej opisywanymi - znajdziemy w niej opis trzeciej części walk o Górny Śląsk, konkretnie opis bitwy pod Pszczyną, a także artykuł przybliżający szczegóły konstrukcji czołgu i jego zastosowanie bojowe. Nieco miejsca poświęcono również konstrukcjom pochodnym, powstałym na podstawie podwozia tego czołgu. Całości dopełnia zwyczajowy schemat malowania oraz krótki artykuł prezentujący malowanie krok po kroku. Tym razem wydawca dodał również miniporadnik, pokazujący jak w prosty sposób można samodzielnie wykonać rozmaite skrzynie i ładunki, widoczne często na pancerzach pojazdów fotografowanych w czasie działań bojowych.

Sam model dostarczany jest w kartonowym pudełku, z doskonałą, jak zawsze, grafiką ozdabiającą jego front. Wewnątrz, w niewielkim foliowym woreczku znajdują się dwie wypraski zawierające części składowe modelu, niewielki arkusik kalkomanii oraz klej i wykałaczka.

PzKpfw I Ausf. B to wersja dość znacznie różniąca się od wersji Ausf. A, której model dołączony był do drugiego numeru pisma. Z rzeczy najważniejszych - wskutek zmiany silnika wydłużeniu uległ kadłub czołgu, dodano dodatkowa koła jezdne i rolki powrotne. Bez zmian pozostała za to wieżyczka z uzbrojeniem. Dzięki sprytnemu podziałowi ramek modeli czołgu PzKpfw I Ausf. A i Sd.Kfz. 265 (wersja dowódcza, oparta właśnie na wersji Ausf. B), który ukazał się w numerze 4. kolekcji, i ich późniejszemu mieszaniu, wydawca zdołał uzyskać trzy różne modele - ramki, które otrzymujemy w pudełku z modelem są bowiem identyczne z tymi, które widzieliśmy wcześniej w modelach z numeru drugiego oraz czwartego. 

Model składa się łącznie z 16 części. Jak wiadomo, przeznaczony jest głównie do grania, zastosowane są więc pewne uproszczenia, widoczne najbardziej przy układzie jezdnym, odlanym w postaci gąsienic razem z kołami. Kadłub modelu PzKpfw I Ausf. B pochodzi z modelu Sd.Kfz. 265, natomiast wieżyczka z modelu PzKpfw I Ausf. A. Nic więc dziwnego, że jakość wykonania jest identyczna jak w przypadku obu wcześniejszych modeli - bardzo wysoka. Odlewy są staranne, praktycznie bez śladu podziału formy (widoczne są one na dwóch elementach - lufach uzbrojenia oraz gąsienicach), poszczególne płyty pancerne posiadają wyraźnie widoczne mocowania, dobrze oddane są detale układu jezdnego. 

Pamiętając, że mamy do czynienia z relatywnie prostym modelem wargamingowym, myślę że jest on jednak na tyle dobry, że zadowoli także nieco bardziej wymagających modelarzy redukcyjnych.

Model of the German PzKpfw I Ausf. B light tank in 1:72 scale has been released by First to Fight company as a part of "September 1939" magazine collection. It was bundled with the issue no. 8th. Magazine itself is very similar to the previous issues - short description of the one of the battles of the September (precisely, third part of the battle of the Upper Silesia, battle of Pszczyna), history and usage of the construction, full color spread with painting guide and some adverts for Polish wargaming clubs. Part of the article describing construction of this tank is dedicated to the various other vehicles built on the PzKpfw I Ausf. A chassis. Additionally, there is also a short guide showing how to build various storage boxes and crates, which are frequently visible lying on the backs of tanks on historical photos.

Model itself is supplied in cardboard box with full color cover with very nice art. Inside, there are two plastic sprues packed into foil box, small sheet of basic decals, glue and a toothpick (most basic modelling tool I know of;). 

The main difference between PzKpfw I Ausf. B and Ausf. A version was the engine. Due to mounting larger engine it was necessary to lenghten the hull of the tank and add one pair of wheels. Turret with armament was unchanged. As the model of the Ausf. A was already released in the second issue of the series, sprue with a turret is taken from this model. On the other hand, hull of the Ausf. B version was already released too. Thanks to cleverly dividing parts of the Sd.Kfz 265 model, which was a command version built on Ausf. B chassis, publisher was able to make one and the same sprue with the hull for both command tank and a Ausf. B model. So, in short - we have two plastic sprues with parts from earlier models.

There are 16 parts total, they are casted in rather hard, dark-grey plastic. As we know, First to Fight's models are mainly produced for wargaming, so there are some simplifications - the most visible one are tracks casted as a one piece with wheels, rollers, etc. Anyway. quality of the parts and the cast is very high. All details are really sharp and perfectly visible - there are even very tiny bolts mounting armour plates. Mould lines are delicate but, unfortunately, running straight through the middle of the tracks. It is necessary to thoroughly remove them before painting.

Very nice model for wargaming purposes and I think it is accurate and detailed enough to be of use for plastic modellers too.
