Mają więcej szczegółów i rozmaite ozdoby. Jeźdźcy nie odbiegają jakością od postaci pieszych. Podczas malowania starałem się dopieścić ich nieco bardziej niż przeciętny element, stąd wielokolorowe spodnie, odrobinę bardziej pracochłonne tarcze, tatuaże, czy dodatkowa warstwa rozjaśnień. Jedyne zastrzeżenie, jakie mógłbym mieć do tych figurek, to sposób mocowania tarcz.

I didn't have much time this weekend but unfinished element of Gallic cavalry looked so pathetic that I decided to finish them anyway - paying price of few hours of my sleep. This is first mounted unit made by Corvus Belli painted by me and I have some small noticies. First - horses are bulky, they looked healthy and muscular. They are a tiny bit bigger then Xyston's or Wargamer's. Reins are - in my opinion - better then Xyston's too. They are much more detailed, there are some ornaments, etc. Horsemen are as good as foot miniatures. I tried to put some special effort painting them, so trousers are multicolored, shields took me a little more time to paint, there are tattoos and additional highlights. I have but just one complain - shields and the way they are being attached to the miniature. The only way to do this is to glue them. Poses of miniatures and relatively small area of contact makes this bond very brittle. I'm sure shields will fall off during journey to the gaming club. Of course, gluing them on again is easy but so what... they will fall off again. Ok, enough negatives... Horsemen fit saddles well, I had to slightly alter their fit by pressing legs between my fingers after gluing them on the mounts. Unfortunately one of the Gauls is sculpted in such a way, that he is leaning over the horse's neck - looking as badly glued on. I like these miniatures so much that I pity they have to be glued on one, common base. Their poses and small size of the base makes their painting "vanishing in a crowd" so to speak...

  4. These look fantastic. I really like the effect you've got with the shields.

Sorry can't write in Polish, but the year I spent in Lublin over 15 years ago was not enough to learn much, and what I did I've now forgotten!

  7. I appreciated the comparison with Xyston figures. I've got just about all the CB ones going, and I've just about finished the Ancient Spanish army, which will provide a good enemy for the Gauls and the Carthaginians. While the Xyston figures look very nice, I reckon they're too big!

I was working at a language school in Lublin over 1993-1994. I knew some of the teachers at the Catholic University there (they were teaching English, Welsh and Irish there).
